Where and when is the Shrub Life Festival?

Shrub Life Festival will be held Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 12PM at Emergence Community Art Center (ECAC), 733 Euclid St. NW, Washington, DC 20001

 

What time is the Event and what is on the schedule?

Shrub Life Festival will be from 12pm to 6pm, Saturday July 20th.

Stay tuned for the schedule for that day! We will have a program of cooking demos, product demos, plus a raffle.

Where can I park my car or bike?

CARS: ECAC, our venue, is accessible via Metrobus and Metro Rail, so public transportation is recommended. Shrub Life Festival does not provide parking space, so street parking or a garage are the options. ECAC is in a Zone 1 residential neighborhood.

 

BIKES: Since it is in a residential neighborhood, there are no bike racks adjacent to the facility. Bikers may lock their bikes on the street at their own risk. There are several CAPITAL BIKESHARE racks closeby, the closest being on the corner of Fairmont St. NW & Georgia Ave.

 

How can I get there via Public Transportation?

ECAC, our venue is located near bus and Metro Rail stops, so public transportation is highly recommended.

METRO: U STREET/AFRICAN AMERICAN CIVIL WAR MUSEUM metro on the GREEN//YELLOW Line - walk 0.6miles (uphill) North to ECAC

 

COLUMBIA HEIGHTS METRO station on the GREEN/YELLOW line - walk 0.8miles (downhill) South to ECAC

 

BUS: 70 Bus, Georgia Ave. North and South - Stop at Georgia Ave. & Euclid St

63 Bus, Sherman Ave, North and South - Stop at Sherman Ave & Euclid St.

64 Bus, 11 Street NW, North and South - Stop at 11 StNW & Clifton St.

H1,2,3,4 Bus, West - Stop at Columbia Rd. & Georgia Ave.

H 1, 2,3,4 Bus, East - Stop at Irving St. NW & Sherman Ave.

 

Is this event wheelchair accessible?

Shrub Life Festival will be held mostly in the parking lot behind ECAC, our venue. To enter the venue directly and avoid staircases, enter via the alleyway off of Georgia Avenue, 100 Feet North of Euclid Street. This is a public alleyway, so please be mindful of cars entering and exiting. On the day of the event, July 14th 2018, This entrance will be clearly marked.
 

How much does the event cost?

Shrub Life Festival tickets are $10, however, tickets purchased through a vendor are $7. Stay tuned to our website and social media (@ShrubLifeFest) for information on how to purchase tickets from the vendor. Children under 16 get in for FREE!

 

Is this an all-ages event? Can kids come?

Of course! We welcome folks of all ages to come and enjoy Shrub Life Festival! We will have a bar where those who are 21+ may opt for alcohol, so bring your IDs!

Can I bring my dog?

Four legged friends are welcome, but must be kept on a leash at all times. Please pick up after your pets.

 

Is there an ATM nearby? Will vendors take credit cards?

We encourage all of our vendors to provide multiple payment options for attendees, but it is up to them. If you need cash, there are a cluster of banks with ATMs Northwest of ECAC on 14th Street between Irving St. and Park Road.

 

What happens if it rains?

Shrub Life Festival is an outdoor event - we will continue, rain or shine, unless the weather poses a threat to safety or our attendees.

 

Will all the food be vegan?

Shrub Life Festival is a 100% meat and animal product free event. All food and drinks sold at this event will be free of meat, dairy, eggs, or any other animal-derived additives. If you have any food allergies or sensitivities, please ask the vendors about their ingredients - they would be happy to tell you!

 

Will there be free drinking water at the event?

Yes. Shrub Life Festival will provide free tap water at the bar. Feel free to bring a reusable water bottle to fill up.
